Scholarships & Bursaries

AfBridge believes that financial constraint should never be the reason that a capable, committed person cannot access the education they deserve. The AfBridge Bursary Fund provides partial fee support to qualifying applicants on every programme.

AfBridge Merit Bursary

The AfBridge Merit Bursary covers between 25% and 50% of programme fees for applicants who demonstrate both financial need and exceptional merit – whether academic, professional, or experiential. The bursary is awarded at the time of admission and is deducted directly from the enrolment invoice.

Merit is assessed on the quality of the personal statement, the strength of the admission route evidence, the relevance of the applicant’s demonstrated experience, and the likelihood that the applicant will complete the programme and produce a significant graduation outcome. There is no separate bursary application form – indicate your interest in being considered for a bursary in your personal statement, and the admissions team will assess your eligibility as part of the standard review.

Community Builder Grant

A limited number of full bursaries – covering 100% of programme fees – are available each quarter for applicants whose intended graduation outcome has demonstrable community benefit. A community health worker building a rural health education project. A ministry leader developing a governance framework for a denomination that cannot afford consultants. A young entrepreneur building a business that will employ people in their community. These applicants are exactly who the Community Builder Grant is designed to serve.

To be considered for the Community Builder Grant, describe your intended graduation outcome and its community impact in detail in your personal statement, and state explicitly that you are applying for the Community Builder Grant. AfBridge will contact shortlisted applicants for a brief admissions interview before making a decision.

Ministry Leaders Bursary

Pastors, church elders, deacons, and licensed ministry workers applying to Department 1 programmes (Theology, Missions, and Church Leadership) are eligible for the Ministry Leaders Bursary – a 30% fee reduction automatically applied to all Route B ministry applicants who serve in unpaid or voluntary ministry roles. No additional application is required. The bursary is confirmed in your admissions decision letter.
