Entry Requirements
AfBridge does not gatekeep education behind exams that were never designed to measure what you are actually capable of. Three routes into every programme — and each route takes a different kind of evidence seriously.
Route A — Academic Entry
Minimum of five passes at WASCE/O-Level standard, including English Language, from a recognised secondary school or equivalent. Transcripts, certificates, or a certified letter from your institution are accepted as evidence. International equivalents are considered — contact admissions if you are unsure whether your qualification qualifies.
This route is for recent school leavers, current university students seeking supplementary professional training, and graduates of other institutions who want an AfBridge certificate alongside their degree.
Route B — Experiential Entry
A minimum of one to two years of active, documented practice in the field related to the programme you are applying for. This route recognises that experience is a form of education — and that the woman who has run a business for five years, the pastor who has led a congregation for three years, or the developer who has been building projects from self-teaching for two years has earned the right to structured formation in their field.
Evidence for Route B includes: employer letters, church or ministry registration documents, business registration certificates, a portfolio of self-built work, client testimonials, or any credible documentation of active practice. AfBridge admissions reviews each Route B application individually. There is no single qualifying document — what matters is evidence of genuine, sustained engagement in the field.
Route B entry is available on all AfBridge programmes.
Route C — Professional Transfer
Any holder of a recognised certificate, diploma, Higher National Diploma (HND), or degree from an accredited institution. This route is also open to working professionals in finance, law, technology, communications, education, or ministry who hold formal professional qualifications relevant to the programme they are applying for — even if those qualifications are in an adjacent field.
Route C applicants do not need to submit academic transcripts if their professional qualification pre-dates the relevant institution’s current records. A letter on professional letterhead confirming role and qualification is sufficient.
English Language
All AfBridge programmes are taught and assessed in English. Applicants whose first language is not English but who have completed secondary or tertiary education in English do not need a separate English language test. Applicants who have not studied in English should contact admissions to discuss whether an English proficiency assessment is required.
